Author of the best-selling book Dot on the Prairie: Wandering Back to Saskatchewan and many more!

Charlotte Evelyn’s Top Picks!
"Dot on the Prairie captures life in the 1950’s, in Saskatchewan. It deals with grief and loss, importance of relationships, siblings, courage, and hope."
This book is a very enjoyable read especially for anyone who has lived on a prairie farm or anyone who would like to learn more about farm life. The characters face adversity and good times and get through it all with hard work, humour and respect. Many important lessons are learned by all the characters in the book and the reader. Definitely a good read and a book that you will want to share and read again.

Reviews
There is hopefulness and humour in this book without being trite or formulaic. Because it is told from the perspective of a child, it is not as nuanced as the second book of this series, which features one of the secondary adult characters in Dot on the Prairie.
This book is an excellent present for someone who has lived through those years or experiences, but was also engaging to young family members as a read aloud. While it is a fictional story, it is based on real people and events. It is a part of a series called Wandering Back to Saskatchewan. Highly recommend!

I just finished Sure as the River – it’s a rainy day here and I’ve spent the last few chapters bawling. Your books are priceless! Thank you for
the sweet, pure simplicity thus far. I’m so touched by these first two. Shelley has given me the next two and the reason I’m enjoying them so much is
that my 93 year old Mom is reading along with me, too…..she’s reliving so much of what it referred to, and the humor in your stories has us laughing out loud.
Let me just express again, our gratitude for these stories, and the important Canadian facts you’ve included.
